Operational Quality Engineer

Starting Pay Range: $70,000+ depending on experience

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing effective management of our internal and external quality and supporting our improvement system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Investigate internal quality issues to determine root cause
• Manage and lead the improvements need to correct internal quality issues
• Manage and lead our internal improvement system
• Manage and lead the improvements need to correct external quality issues
• Measure parts as required to meet our internal and external goals.
• Maintain information allowing the organization to stay focused on Quality, meeting Customer Requirements, and overall Customer Satisfaction.
• Control and disposition of non-conforming product.
• Instruct, coordinate and train employees to adhere to ISO standards, general quality principles, best manufacturing practices, and safety standards.
• Provide status of ongoing issues, projects and communicate progress.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams, Koike Management and customers to get positive results and bring closure to quality issues.
• Management and Audit preparedness of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System
o Coordinate Management Review Meetings.
o Coordinate Internal Audits.
o Maintain control of ISO documents and ensure their continued accuracy.

COMPETENCIES

• Ability to read and interpret prints and their associated sub-prints. Ability to calculate tolerance stack and make recommendations to print changes. A working knowledge of GD&T including the creation of call outs and selection of datums is required.
• Ability to measure parts based on Engineering prints with handheld devised, as well as, stationary or mobile cmm devices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree, Manufacturing or Industrial preferred, and 7 or more years related experience in a fabrication or assembly shop and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mechanical Engineer

Starting Pay Range: $60,000+ depending on experience

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified, driven, energetic, hands-on Mechanical Engineer to take responsibility for the design solutions that meet our customers’ needs. The successful candidate for this position will be able to take a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, including specification, design, documentation, testing, and presenting proposals to managers and clients.
This is a mechanical engineering position primarily and inherently includes continuous engineering support of all existing products including BOM Creation, Drawing Creation, Documentation Release, Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction and Innovation.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of machine design & mechanical power transmission. Experience with design of weldments and heavy structural design ideal. Must be able to perform and document mechanical calculations, finite element analysis, etc.
Under the general direction of the Manager, Engineering, perform all required engineering tasks. Ensure the use of proper engineering design principles and contribute to reliable and cost effective product. The assignments have general objectives and include contact with the customer. Directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of all products and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in either mechanical design, mechanical drafting, or mechanical engineering. Additional work experience in the field preferred, especially with the design & construction of large electromechanical equipment. Experience of 5+ years preferred.
Ability to work with concepts such as:
• Fundamentals of mechanical engineering principles.
• Principles of low cost design and ease of manufacture and assembly.
• Basic analysis of designs, components and subsystems for fit and finish for use, through the proper application of technical theory.
• Use appropriate design techniques.
• Materials properties to identify/select parts tolerance, finish and fitness for use.
• Understand pertinent electrical and/or mechanical design and drafting standards, and drafting practices as applicable.
• Understand pertinent US and European Standards and Codes, as applicable.
• Understand electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical schematics or diagrams as needed.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly practices.
• Experienced in 2-D and/or 3-D CAD as required.
• Preferred Solidworks

Proficient in MSOffice software suite.
Ability to work individually with minimal supervision.
Function effectively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills.

Machine Builder

SUMMARY

Fits and assembles machine components, according to assembly blueprints, using hand and power tools. When called upon to do so the incumbent utilizes acquired cross-functional training skills to assist and reduce the workload demands of other critical departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fits and aligns bearings and shafts, drive transmissions, belts and pulleys, chains and sprockets, and drive gearing including housings.

Rebuilds or repairs customer equipment which has been returned for rework as a result of breakdown.

Assembles machine, sets up and operates it, verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications.

Must be physically capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Welder

SUMMARY
Full-time 1st shift position.

Sets up weldments according to blueprint specifications. May place and align jigs and fixtures to hold parts and mount work piece onto welding positioner. May position c-clamps, bar clamps, install shims, wedges, and spacers to align weldments in preparation for welding. Applies state-of-the-art welding technology to weld together metal fabricated assemblies and subassemblies in accordance with blueprint specifications. Welding methods may include arc, shielded arc, flux core gas shielded, MIG and/or TIG weld processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School graduate with minimum of 2-year vocational school education with major concentration in the field of welding technology. Welding training in accordance with AWS 14.1 welding code (certification desirable) combined with 3-5 years related experience and/or training. Must possess knowledge of blueprint reading.

Must be physically capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

The self-motivated candidate performs machine work on CNC Milling, Drilling, Boring Machines and/or CNC lathes. Must be able to set machine up and run proficiently upon completed training. Be able to edit new and existing programs as needed and actively contribute to quality initiatives to increase productivity and gain efficiencies. Candidate must be able to read blue prints, micrometer, calipers and other standard measuring equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two-year related trade school training and three to five years of job-related experience.

Must be physically capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
